Sault Ste. Marie, ON (January 13th, 2021) NORPRO is excited to announce Sonny Spina as the Managing Director of Security.

Sonny is responsible for providing strategic leadership, expertise, and direction to employees and community partners under the Security division. Many of those communities include NORPRO’s First Nation partners. Sonny’s role is to focus on the protection of personnel, to maintain and implement protocol and to reduce risk. NORPRO’s Security division includes COVID-19 Screeners, Industrial and Security Guards, Patrol Guards, and Loss Prevention Officers. He is also accountable for overseeing the local and regional sales team. Sonny will be the lead on NORPRO Security’s service expansion across Ontario.

Before joining NORPRO full-time, Sonny served as a police officer with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service for 18 years. During this time, Sonny worked in many different roles including Patrol Services, Investigation Services, Professional Standards, Planning and Research and Media and Community Relations.

Sonny Spina states, “I am happy to have dedicated myself to serving the people of Sault Ste. Marie for so many years. I’m looking forward to expanding the Security division at NORPRO to the rest of Ontario and I will use my experience to lead our team in making Ontario a better and safer place.”

Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Sonny has been heavily involved in the community. He was a Board Member for the Centre for Social Justice and Good Work, a past-chair for the United Way Campaign, is the current Chair of the Algoma Family Services Foundation and is the creator and executor of events such as Pedals for Possibilities, DU283 (Duathlons to raise funds and awareness for youth mental health) and the Push for Change event which aims to eliminate youth homelessness.
